Apple to launch iPhone 6 in two sizes this year?
Latest reports suggest Apple is gearing up to launch the iPhone 6 in two different sizes.
Apple will reportedly break from tradition and launch two variations of the iPhone 6 later this year.
According to unnamed Foxconn executives, Apple could launch 4.7- and 5.7-inch iPhone 6 models.
Both iPhone 6 variants will feature the TouchID sensor introduced with the flagship iPhone 5S at the end of last year.
The latest rumour reinforces information that surfaced earlier in 2013, suggesting the Cupertino company will launch two different iPhone 6 sizes.
In September, it was suggested Apple was testing iPhone 6 prototypes with screen sizes up to 6-inches, although no actual sizes were listed.
In October, an analyst stated Apple was testing 4.7- and 5.7-inch iPhone screens, while notorious Apple tipster Brian White said a few days later he had knowledge of an iPhone 6 with a screen size that “could approach 5-inches.”
There were also other rumours of a 5.5- and 4.9-inch screen though, so, as usual, take these new rumours with a pinch of salt.
iPhone 5S Features
The iPhone 5S currently has a 4-inch 1136 x 640p resolution screen with a 326ppi image density.
The TouchID wielding smartphone has an Apple A7 processor with a 64-bit architecture and features an M7 motion coprocessor for fitness and movement feedback.
It also has an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, True Tone flash and five element lens. Apple also introduced a hybrid IR filter with the iPhone 5S too.
The front-facing FaceTime camera was upgraded to 1.2-megapixels with 720p HD video recording.
Offered in space grey, gold or silver, the iPhone 5S can be purchased with 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage.
