iPhone 6 Features To Include Voice-Based Search And Tagging Siri

Image
iPhone  6 features may include Siri, another improvement in its voice assistant. Siri may sort through the iOS photos based on voice search and tagging, according to the latest patent application published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and picked up by  Apple Insider . The patent was entitled, "Voice-Based Image Tagging and Searching." This allows users to access and sort the photos saved a device like an  iPhone  6. The gold colored version of the new iPhone 5S is seen after Apple Inc's media event in Cupertino, California September 10, 2013. The reason for the new features was the growing volume of photos collected by users on devices like iPhones, which make them increasingly hard to sort. The company noted that tagging photos based on names or locations will make it easier for users to find what they are looking for. Moreover, using speech is easier to tag and search the photos. The proposed invention could also automatically tag photo

Taiwan fines Apple $666K over iPhone pricing

Image
Taiwan's Fair Trade Commission has fined Apple 20 million New Taiwan dollars -- about $666,000 -- after determining the company has been illegally interfering with iPhone pricing in the country, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday. The commission found that Apple was telling Taiwan's three primary mobile-service providers how much to charge for iPhones. "Through the email correspondence between Apple and these three telecom companies we discovered the companies submit their pricing plans to Apple to be approved or confirmed before the products hit the market," the commission said in a statement, according to the WSJ. The newspaper could not reach Apple for comment.

Apple in giving spirit with '12 Days of Gifts' for iOS users

Image
Apple is bringing its popular 12 Days of Gifts to the United States. Previously offered only in Canada and Europe, the 12 Days of Gifts app is now available to US customers via the App Store. The program entails Apple handing out one free digital item for a period of 12 days between December 26 and January 6. Apple won't say until each day what it is offering, but the freebies can be anything from music to apps to movies. The app, which hit the App Store on Tuesday, is available for free. Once a daily offer has been made, customers have 24 hours to download it before it's taken away and replaced with the next day's gift.

iPhone 6 Release Date Update:

Image
The latest  iPhone 6 chatter is not only focused on its rumoured 2014 release date - the blogosphere is busy as well generating the features that Apple fans should anticipate once the first iOS phablet becomes real. When the  iPhone  6 is coming is anybody's guess at this time but one thing is sure - Apple is keeping up with its smartphone upgrade cycle so it is fairly certain that a replacement for the already powerful iPhone 5S is arriving  in 2014. The only question is when. Analysts offer varying projections. The touchdown, they said, could happen as early as June of next year. But more predictable is the tech giant would simply abide by its existing iPhone release template - pointing the iPhone 6 release date some time in fall of 2014 or late September to be exact. However, there are some quarters harbouring the belief that two iPhone builds will be rolled out next year, which is not without basis. Apple proved that is willing and capable to manufacture two iPhone var

The iPhone 6: Apple’s Next Impact Device

Image
The iPhone 6 may not be coming until 2014 but there’s still plenty to say about it. Before we begin, let’s look at how Apple made a huge impact in 2007 with the release of their first cellphone. Tech is such a wonderful and constantly evolving thing. Nothing ever stays the same and it feels like most days we hear about a fantastic new invention or concept that could change our lives in some way. One of the most interesting aspects of evolving tech is the cellphone. While a lot of people simply buy them, place them in their pockets or purses, and just use them for basic functions and app usage, there’s a lot more to cellphones that caught my eye years ago. I love reading about the advances that these companies are making to bring cellphones ever so closer to replacement other tech in our lives. What was once just a phone is now so much more. I have changed carriers and phones more than I’d like to remember. Sure, it has been an expensive “hobby” but I constantly have that feelin

iPad Air scores big during Black Friday weekend

Image
Apple can thank holiday shoppers for a surge in iPad Air sales. Activations of the new iPad increased by 51 percent  this past weekend compared with those from the prior weekend, according to mobile analytics firm Localytics. That volume put the new Air on the top of the tablet heap, followed by the new iPad Mini in second place with 26 percent more activations than those during the prior weekend. Localytics pegged the Air's growth on a variety of factors, including Apple's giveaway of a $75 gift card with each purchase, a small base of existing iPad Air owners, and the relative novelty of the Air, which hit the market on November 1. In third place among tablets, Amazon's Kindle Fire HD 7 saw 23 percent more activations.Amazon trimmed the price of the tablet by $50 this past weekend, a deal that prompted the devices to sell out long before Cyber Monday ended. Among smartphones, the iPhone 5C grabbed a 26 percent jump in activations, followed by Samsung's Ga

Apple iPhone History by Syed Haider Abbas

The Newton MessagePad was an early handheld device manufactured by Apple in the mid-1990s. Some of its concepts and functions have been incorporated into theiPhone. The  history of the iPhone  line of phones begins with Steve Jobs' direction that Apple Inc. engineers investigate touchscreens and a tablet computer, which later came to fruition with the iPad. Also, many have noted the device's similarities to Apple's previous touch-screen portable device, theNewton MessagePad.Like the Newton, the iPhone is nearly all screen. Its form factor is credited to Apple's head of design, Jonathan Ive . Origins In April 2003 at the "All Things Digital" executive conference, Jobs expressed his belief that tablet PCs and traditional PDAs were not good choices as high-demand markets for Apple to enter, despite many requests made to him that Apple create another PDA. He did believe that cell phones were going to become important devices for portable informa
